New Delhi : Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Satyendar Jain on Tuesday said the agencies which are not repairing roads in the national capital will soon be made public by the Delhi government.
Multiple agencies including Delhi government’s PWD, the three BJP-ruled municipal corporations and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) look after into city roads.
Jain said a mobile application, through which people can upload photos of bad roads, would be launched in two-three months and the names of agencies not repairing roads would be made public, news agency IANS quoted.
Lt. Governor Anil Baijal had asked the government to establish the app on Monday.
The minister stated that PWD, the nodal agency for the app, would pressurise the agency concerned to repair the road and also share details with the public on a regular basis.
Jain said complaints filed in the app would directly go to the officer concerned so that there was no delay in repairs. Potholes will be fixed within a span of 24 hours.
The Public Works Department (PWD) Minister flayed the three BJP-controlled municipal corporations for not repairing roads and said the civic bodies had become “shops to mint money”.
