After reports of SP-BSP alliance, BJP conducted raids against Akhilesh, says Kapil Sibal

Jan 6 : Commenting on the raids conducted by CBI at locations of Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav in a case of illegal mining, Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said the development was expected whoever speaks against the BJP government is harassed and raided.

“Now that the reports of SP-BSP alliance have come, raids have started against Akhilesh. This was expected, whoever speaks against them(BJP) is raided, that’s how this government is running,” Kapil Sibal said.

The CBI conducted raids at 14 locations in Uttar Pradesh in connection with alleged illegal sand-mining scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case against IAS officer B Chandrakala.

The CBI conducted raids after the news circulated that the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party have forged an alliance to fight 2019 the Lok Sabha elections together.

Akhilesh Yadav had alleged that CBI raids on SP, BSP leaders and several IAS officials in the illegal sand mining case are politically motivated.

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for “showing its true colours”, a day after reports that he may face a probe by the CBI in an illegal mining case in the state.

“Samajwadi Party wants to win the maximum number of Lok Sabha seats. The people who want to stop us have the CBI with them. But the people of India are ready to give an answer to the BJP,” Yadav said in an interaction with the media after a party event.
