After Paan shops and ghutkha, Adityanath bans jeans, T-shirts in UP

Uttar Pradesh, 24 March: Soon after acquiring the reign in Uttar Pradesh, Mahant Yogi Adityanath is in action to tackle the state’s crime culture.

With the major decision, Wearing of jeans and T-shirts for the state government employees during office hours is banned in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier on Thursday in a bid to spread forward his moral policies, the new Chief Minister banned smoking, gutkha, use of mobile and wearing of informal dresses during school hours.

The education department has already issued guidelines, explaining all do’s and don’ts, to all schools and colleges in the state.

He also directed to all the principal of schools and colleges to take steps to maintain hygienic conditions in their school premises.

Station House Officers of all police stations have also been directed to ensure removal of all paan shops within close vicinity of educational institutions and also called out for strict action towards all the ‘Romeos’ hanging in the vicinity of girl schools and colleges.

Stressing the need to provide safety to girls, UP CM directed police to act stringent and keep eye on the Romeos that hang around the girls schools and colleges.

To provide a sense of security to teachers also, he asked the Teachers not to stop their voice against eve-teasing and directly go to the CM office if the police wasn’t able to handle the matter.

Earlier, Yogi had made a surprise inspection visit to Hazratganj police station to get a first-hand feel of functioning of thanas. He talked to constables on duty and asked them if there was any work pressure.

The CM stressed the need for quick action on every FIRs and complaints lodged with the police. Before Yogi, former Chief Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh was the only CM to have ever visited a police station in 1967.
