After glitch, President leaves for Chennai to pay his respects to Jayalalithaa

New Delhi, Dec 6, 2016: President Pranab Mukherjee left for Chennai on Tuesday to pay his respect to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, who died on Monday night.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) plane carrying Mukherjee to Chennai returns to Delhi after facing a technical snag.

Mukherjee was heading to Chennai to pay homage to J Jayalalithaa, who passed away on Monday night after suffering a cardiac arrest at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai .

Remembering Jayalalithaa, President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday expressed his condolences and said he was “extremely sad” as the country lost “a visionary leader”.
