New Delhi, October 28: Three years on…and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s remark on Narendra Modi as an expert in ‘jhooth ki kheti’ after Modi’s Patna rally on 27 October 2013 coheres with “pain and anguish” expressed by 6 families of bomb blast victims who were offered job and financial assistance by Modi.

Ahead of Modi’s political rally in Patna in 2013, 8 bombs rocked the city and just a week after the blasts the prime ministerial candidate from BJP, Narendra Modi returned to Bihar to offer condolences to the victims. It seems that all promises were just a part of Modi’s Joomla campaign that led him to prime-ministership. Modi offered Rs. 5,00,000 to the families of 6 killed in the blasts at Patna Gandhi Maidan.

The families reportedly said that they are “disappointed” as no one from BJP or PMO has ever approached them so far in the three years.

Wife of deceased Vikas Kumar, Veena Devi said:

We have lost faith in the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who promised a job to me.

She further said that the then Gujrat CM Narendra Modi himself visited her and promised that Gujarat government would provide her a job in the same village. He assured free education for her two minor children in a Sainik School. However, since her husband’s death, she is struggling to meet ends for her children’s survival.

Another Victim said,

It is useless to talk of the promises made to me and my family by top BJP leaders and Modi himself.

I was hopeful and sure to get a job after Modi became the Prime Minister. But I have been waiting for a call from his office for the last three years.

Reacting to news, a BJP leader from Bihar said, “whatever promises were made to them will be fulfilled sooner or later.”

The Modi led central government has completed more than 2 years and there is no reason the authorities would have showed such an callousness in fulfilling the promises. The opposition led by JD-U slammed Modi for faking promises ahead 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Now it would be interesting to see if all the promises made by Modi before swearing in as prime minister would ever be fruitful in his entire tenure or these will just remain Joomlas.
