Mumbai, June 30: “Masaan” actress Shweta Tripathi got married to rapper Chaitnya Sharma aka SlowCheeta in an intimate wedding ceremony in Goa.
The couple got married in a traditional ceremony on Friday evening at a resort in Goa. It was attended by their close relatives and friends.
Sharing the wedding picture on Instagram, Shweta Tripathi wrote “We walked 7 circles around a fire with our closest people around to make sure heaven keeps us together for the rest of our lives. It doesn’t get better than this,”.
Shweta looked vibrant on her wedding day in a custom-made ensemble from Papa Don’t Preach.
The wedding’s theme was done keeping in mind their love story. The wedding was thematically designed by Devika Narain.
Their engagement ceremony was held last night in Mumbai. The wedding festivities also included a Haldi and Mehendi ceremony.
Chaitnya Sharma, whose stage name is SlowCheetah, had proposed to Shweta for marriage some months ago and she instantly had said a ‘Yes!’ “He proposed at a place called Cuckoo Club, which is a performing place in Mumbai. He wanted to do it on stage because that’s how we met — for a play. He had told me he has a new play, so I went to see that… But it was the proposal,” she had earlier told news agency IANS.
“We met because both of us were stepping in for other actors. So, from Bombay (Mumbai), we met in Delhi to perform and hardly spoke throughout. On our way back, we were seated next to each other. It was a 5 a.m. flight, so obviously the plan was to doze off. But we started talking and that was that,” Shweta added.
The couple will be hosting a pool and pyjama party on Saturday.
On the work front, Shweta will be next seen web-series “Mirzapur”, film “Cargo”. And Chaitnya will star in Zoya Akhtar’s “Gully Boy”, which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
