Mumbai, June 17 : The Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Bandra, has acquitted actor Vidyut Jamwal in a 2007 assault case. He was accused of smashing a bottle on a Juhu resident’s head in September 2007.
The actor has been charged with sections dealing with voluntarily causing grievous hurt, rioting, armed with a weapon.
If found guilty of the charges, he can be hailed up to three years.The court framed charges after Jamwal , the Commando 2 star, guilty.
In the intervening night August 31 and September 1, 2007, Jamwal was partying with his friends at the Grand Hayatt Hotel.As they were leaving the hotel at 2 pm, Rahul Suri, a Juhu businessman, allegedly inadvertently pushed one of the actor’s friends. A fight broke out Suri was allegedly beaten up by Jamwal and his friend Goswami.
Harishnath Goswami, friend of Vidyut Jamwal,has also been acquitted by Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Bandra.
