Pradyuman murder case: Accused Class 11 student, says he was forced to confess crime

New Delhi, Nov 14: Amid of twists and turn in the killing of  seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur, the arrested class 11 student said he was forced to confess the crime.

The CBI had detained a class 11 student of Ryan International School and gave a clean chit to the bus conductor Ashok Kumar, who was first arrested by the Gurugram Police for the murder and sexual assault of the child.

According to Hindustan Times, the accused told to a team of CBI officials and a legal-cum-probation officer of the district child protection unit that the investigators forced him to confess.

Interestingly, a similar claim was made by the father of Class 11 student earlier.

The investigative team had said that the accused committed the crime in order to postpone the parents-teachers meeting and the exams.

Following the detention, CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal told media accused was arrested after “inspection of the crime spot, scrutiny of CCTV footage, call records, statements and questioning of several people” revealed that he had carried a knife inside the school premises on the day of the crime and used it to kill his junior school mate.

The CBI took over the case on September 22 from Haryana Police, nearly two weeks after the Class 2 boy was found with his throat slit in a school bathroom.
