A 15-year-old Abhay Modani’s hacked to death who was abducted on Wednesday evening near his house in Shahinayatgunj area, Hyderabad.
The murder came in light when boy’s body was found in a TV package box near Alpha Hotel in Secunderabad. His hands were found tied with a rope.
According to the family, Abhay had gone out on Wednesday evening to get idlis.
After some time the family members received a call from kidnappers for ransom who demanded Rs. 10 crore from Abhay’s father Raj Kumar, who run a scrap recycling company. The caller called again and decreased the demand to Rs. 5 crore.
Police registered the family’s complaint and tracked the call details to Secunderabad and launched a search operation for the suspects in which the body was found by the roadside near Alpha Hotel on Thursday morning.
He clips recorded on surveillance cameras in the area shows Abhay riding pillion on a two-wheeler with a youngster, who appeared to be familiar to him.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Venkateshwar Rao has announced a reward of Rs.1 lakh for anyone who will give any clue about the incident.
Police formed 10 special teams to arrest the kidnappers and murderers. After initial investigation, the police suspected 3 people to be involved in the crime and arrested them when they were trying to escape from a train to Vijayawada.
According to the police the three kidnappers are suspected to be former employees of the boy’s father. They allegedly murdered the boy soon after kidnapping him.
