New Delhi, Oct 27 : Aam Aadmi Party legislator from Okhla, Amanatullah Khan, who is facing molestation charges on Wednesday booked for allegedly assaulting two engineers, Delhi Police said.
Tashir and Naushad residents of Shaheen Bagh area of southeast district filed a complaint against the legislator and four-five of his associates alleging that the accused beat them up with sticks following a verbal duel over a Facebook post.
Police registered a case against Khan and his associates under Sections 341,325 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code on various charges, including causing grievous hurt on the complaint of Naushad and Tashir,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Romil Baniya said.
They were allegedly attacked by Khan’s associates in wee hours on Tuesday. Both sustained injuries to their heads and internal organs during the clash.
According to the Police, a cross-case was also registered against both the engineers at the Jamia Nagar Police Station on a complaint by an accused Feroz that both engineers began arguing first on Facebook and abused Khan and others associates.
“The two were booked on a complaint about threats, abuse and others offensive comments at the Jamia Nagar police station.”
