AAP, BJP led to stand still of Delhi governance: Congress

New Delhi, June 15: Congress on Friday accused both the state and the Central government of leading to stand still of Delhi governance and said that sit-in protest by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is not the way to meet demands including Delhi’s statehood.

Addressing a press conference, Congress leader Ajay Maken along with former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit stated: ” It’s absolutely unbelievable how the AAP govt in Delhi and BJP govt in Centre have led to the stand still of Delhi governance”.

“This is a deliberate move of both the parties to distract the public away from their failures of the government”, he added.

“Both ruling parties, AAP and BJP should together work for the betterment of citizens of Delhi. Smt Sheila Dikshit has set an example of good governance in her tenure”.

Meanwhile, Dikshit said “one need to remember that Delhi is a Union Territory. Delhi’s statehood was our wish too, but we understand that it is a national capital and the constitution has to be changed for that. We never used this as an excuse to not work”.

“When we were in the government for the first term, BJP had formed government at center, yet this kind of disturbance was never caused to the people of Delhi”.
