New Delhi, Nov 22 : A top Daimler executive based in Beijing was fired after he got into a flaming row over a parking spot,on which he allegedly said, “All you Chinese are bastards”.
“The truck and bus company released a statement saying that the company had decided to part ways with Rainer Gartner, president and CEO at Daimler Trucks & Buses China Ltd., following the incident,” the daily wrote about the executive.
During October, Germany’s EU commissioner Gunther Oettinger referred to Chinese people as “slit-eyes” and “sly dogs” in a speech to business leaders in Hamburg, The New York Times reported.After that, Gartner is the second German in a month to make abusive comments about Chinese.
It has been reported that Gartner allegedly “stole” a parking spot from a Chinese man who was reversing into the spot. A row ensued, during which he said: “I am in China one year already. The first thing I learned here is, “All you Chinese are bastards.” (INPUT TOI)
