9 girls missing from Delhi shelter home

New Delhi, Dec 3: At least nine girls were missing from a shelter home in East Delhi’s Dilshad Garden on Monday.

The incident has been reported from Sanskar ashram shelter home.

Following the Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal representation, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has directed Chief Secretary to suspend senior officers.

The incident comes at a time when the country is already shocked with Muzaffarpur Shelter horror in which out of 42 girls lodged at the residential hostel run by prime accused Brajesh Thakur’s NGO, 34 were found to have been sexually assaulted in June this year.

Last month the Central Bureau of Investigation discovered that five minor girls, and not two as reported earlier, died in a shelter home.

This year number of incidents related to shelter homes have been surfaced from different parts of the country.
