8-year-old tells mother someone shut the door and “behaved badly” in school’s washroom




MEERUT, August 10: A heinous crime comes to the fore after an eight-year-old girl revealed her mother that when she went to the school washroom, someone shut the door and “behaved badly with her.”

A minor student of  Daffodil Public School located in the Floor Bag Colony in Meerut was brutally raped by an unidentified man shockingly in the washroom of the school.

The class 4 student had gone to the washroom when the school got over, said the victim’s mother. But when the girl reached home, she started crying citing stomach ache. Then she revealed that when she went to the washroom, someone shut the door and “behaved badly with her.”

After listening to her daughter, the mother claimed that when she checked her clothes that were drenched in blood.

It was then when the victim was rushed to the doctor, the whole incident was disclosed.

The family went to the school and informed the ordeal to the principal.

While the principal allegedly tried to elude the whole matter, due to which the family got furious and beat up the principal and ransacked school property.

After this police personnel were deployed outside the school.

The victim’s family alleged that the principal knew about the incident since there are CCTV cameras in the premises, but the school authorities are not giving them access to it.

Delhi: Roof of house collapses in Dwarka, 2 dead, 3 injured

New Delhi, July 23: Two people have been killed and at least three have been injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Delhi. The incident took place in Harsh Vihar near Dwarka at around 1 am on Monday.

The incident comes hours after another five-storey under-construction building collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Sunday. At least two people were killed and seven were injured in the mishap.

Earlier, just a week ago, a six-storey under-construction building had collapsed on another five-storey building in Shahberi village of Greater Noida bringing down both of the buildings, which claimed nine lives.

Rains likely in Delhi-NCR

New Delhi, July 23: It was a cloudy Monday morning in the national capital with the minimum temperature recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average, said the Met office.

“The sky will remain mostly cloudy with chances of moderate rain in the National Capital Region (NCR),” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

Delhi has received 18.1 mm rain in the last 24 hours since Sunday, the official added.

The maximum temperature was expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius. The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 94 per cent.

Sunday’s maximum temperature settled at 34.4 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius, a notch above season’s average.

Khuti gang-rape mastermind held in Jharkhand




Ranchi, July 23: The mastermind of the gang rape of five women in Khuti district of Jharkhand a month ago was arrested on Sunday in West Singhbhum district along with another accused, police said.

“Mastermind Junas Tudu was arrested along with Balram Samad from the Chakradharpur railway station. Junas had instigated the Maoists belonging to People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) to commit the crime,” Inspector General of Police Naveen Kumar told reporters in Khuti.

The five women — who were creating awareness against human trafficking — were abducted and gang-raped at Kochang village on June 21. Junas was absconding since then.

Police has already arrested PLFI member and main accused Baji Samad alias Takla, Roman Catholic Church father Alphons Aiad, and two others.

According to police, Samad has confessed that he and others gang-raped the women on the instigation of Junas and Balram. Based on his confession, police seized five rifles from a forest in Khuti district.
