7-year-old Girl shares live feed of devastating Aleppo


LONDON, 29 Nov: With the fear in eyes of being killed anytime a seven-year-old Syrian girl, shares the critical moments of her life in Syria’s rebel held Aleppo.

The girl in such a small age has seen so many up and downs after losing her best friend who was crushed under a collapsed building.

According to an extraordinary Twitter account, girl named Bana Alabed is sharing all the things she is facing in Syria’s second city Aleppo, where Russian and government airstrikes are believed to have claimed over 200 lives in the last week.

There are nearly 137,000 followers of Bana Alabed since she joined the social media site in September.

However, sharing videos and pictures of life during the year conflict from her @AlabedBana account managed by her mother, Fatemah.


In the Sunday’s mid-night, Fatemah posted a Tweet telling her followers: “Last message – under heavy bombardments now, can’t be alive anymore. When we die, keep talking for 200,000 still inside. BYE.- Fatemah”.

After some hours, a picture of the young girl covered in dust was uploaded with the text:

However, Reuters could not immediately verify the events described by Bana and her mother.

The Syrian army and its allies on Monday declared the capture of a swathe of eastern Aleppo from rebels in an accelerating attack that threatens to crush the opposition in its most important urban stronghold.

Fatemah said that the distress family were staying with neighbours while they looked for another house.

“We wait & see because right now we are fighting for life,” she said in English via Twitter.

Bana’s past tweets have attracted responses from various users including “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling, who has sent the young girl eBooks of the best-selling series.
