7 Hizbul Mujahideen members arrested in Assam

Assam, Sep 18 : Assam’s Director General of Police (DGP) Kuladhar Saikia said 7 members of the extrmist group Hizbul Mujahideen have been arrested.

Assam Special DGP said, “So far 7 members of Hizbul Mujahideen have been arrested. If you look at the history of Assam, several foreign-based extremist organisations had tried to gain foot-hold here but none succeeded..”

Police is investigating if terror outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen has set up Assam module.Lid was blown following arrest of Assam origin terrorist Qamar-uz-Zaman by Uttar Pradesh police.

 

“We’re confident we’ll be able to neutralise them with help of people of Assam,” he said.

Taking cues from Assam’s National Register of Citizens (NRC),Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has called  for the implementation of a similar citizens’ list in Bengal.NRC will help identify illegal immigrants and     stop infiltration’ of Muslims from Bangladesh into their state.:
