McDonald’s is shutting its 43 outlets out of 55 in Delhi today. The competition between CPRL and the food chain has lead to this move which would not just affect the food lovers but also the employees working in the organization .
In order to maintain a balance between the Mac Donald food chain restaurants and Connaught Plaza Restaurants this move has been taken. Vikram Bakshi, the former managing director of CPRL (Connaught Plaza Restaurants) told ET, “It’s unfortunate, but operation of 43 restaurants operated by CPRL has been temporarily suspended.
The decision to close the outlets was taken trough a skype meeting which could leave 1,700 employees jobless. The temporary suspension is due to the expiration of the Eating House Licenses of specific restaurants.
Bakshi was responsible for dragging McDonald’s to Company Law Board (CPL). Although, the CPL verdict is still pending for the particular case.
