42 trains delayed,4 cancelled over foggy weather


New Delhi, Dec 23: A moderate fog was witnessed in the national capital on Friday morning with the minimum temperature recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius.

Many passengers remain stranded in Delhi as 42 trains running late, four others cancelled and 4 rescheduled following poor visibility caused due to foggy weather in most parts of north India, a railway official said.

According to the Northern Railway official, the Brahmputra Express was running over 24 hours behind schedule, the Swatantrata Senani Express was running over 27 hours late and the Shaheed Express was over 15 hours late.

Flight operations were also affected as 3 International flights delayed, one domestic flight from/to Delhi cancelled.

The visibility on Friday morning remained around 400 metres.
