New Delhi, July 24: Four passengers travelling on a crowded suburban train in Chennai died on Tuesday after they hit iron poles while allegedly standing on the footboard. They fell off the train at St Thomas Mount station.

At least 10 passengers were injured in the mishap and were taken to hospital in a critical condition.
“When the train was arriving at St Thomas Mount, 10 passengers were hanging out of the door,” a railways official told The News Minute. “They seem to have hit a wall or a pole and fallen down. The train was extremely crowded.”
