36 sexually assaulted students rescued from Pune Madrasa

Pune, July 28: Another heinous incident has been reported in Pune, where a total of 36 students who were allegedly sexually assaulted by a maulana, were rescued by the police from a Madrasa on Friday.

The incident happened in Pune’s Katraj suburb, Maharashtra. According to the news agency ANI, the Maulana of the Madrasa was arrested on charges of sexual assault.

The police authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.

“Maulana of a Madarsa has been arrested for sexually assaulting his students in Katraj, Pune. A total of 36 students have been rescued. We have registered a case against him. Further investigation underway,” said Kondhwa police inspector, Milind Gaikwad.

A similar incident was reported in January this year, where a minor girl was allegedly raped and three others were sexually assaulted in a Madrasa in Nanded, Maharashtra.
