Damascus, Nov 28: In the last 24 hours, nearly 3,000 civilians have escaped from the rebel-held areas in the city of Aleppo according to the reports of monitor group on Sunday.

The civilians run away from the rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo toward government-controlled ones in the western part of the city, Xinhua news agency cited the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

This comes as the Syrian Army has taken three major neighbourhoods in eastern Aleppo in the last 24 hours, a move that has succeeded in dividing rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo.

Earlier in the day, state news agency SANA said 1,500 civilians were fled out of rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo via routes previously identified by the Syrian Army, which has repeatedly called on the rebels to allow civilians to leave.
