27 killed in Pakistan road mishap


Islamabad, Oct 17, 2016: At least twenty-seven people were killed and over 65 others wounded today when two buses banged in Punjab province of Pakistan, police said.

The accident took place in Rahim Yar Khan district’s Khanpur area, media reported.

The police official said one of the buses was on its way from Karachi to Bahawalpur and the other was heading to Sadiqabad from Faisalabad.

According to Rahim Yar Khan police spokesperson Arshad Nawaz, the mishap was so serious that the bodies of the deceased and injured could only be recovered after cutting through the bodies of the vehicles, media reported.

He said the toll might increase as the injured included many in critical condition.
