New Delhi, Dec 23: At least 32 people died and several injured after a bus fell into Banas river in Sawai Madhopur’s Dubi area in Rajasthan on Saturday, news agency ANI reported.
The injured have been admitted to nearby hospital. Rescue operations are underway.
DM KC Varma informed news agency ANI that a total of 32 people lost their lives so far.
Earlier in a day, Subhash Mishra, CO said ” a total of 26 bodies have been recovered so far. Rescue operation is underway to find any survivors.

Initially, death of 12 people was reported in a tragic mishap.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths. He said in a tweet “Anguished by the bus accident in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased. The state government is closely monitoring the situation, including rescue operations and providing all possible assistance to those affected”.
Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi also expressed grief over the incident and asked Rajasthan party workers to help in the rescue operation.
