New Delhi, Oct 6: The 26-days Kisan yatra of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi across poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, will end today at Parliament Street.
The congress party is overwhelmed with the presence of crowd through out the Maha Yatra. It would be interesting to note if the number of people gathered to attend the Khat Sabhas could turn into the number of votes in the upcoming state elections.
Gandhi is scheduled to start from Meerut at 10 a.m. and will arrive in Delhi via Ghaziabad. The yatra will end at Sansad Marg around 4:30 p.m.
The 26 days Deoria to Delhi Kisan yatra started on September 6 and the Gandhi scion covered 3,438 km across Uttar Pradesh till yesterday.
“On reaching Delhi, he’ll first pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat here,” said Congress spokesperson R.P.N. Singh.
“In the past 26 days, the yatra covered 141 assembly constituencies. Rahul Gandhi-ji addressed 26 ‘khat sabhas’ (cot assemblies). There were 26 roadshows during the yatra,” he added.
