26/11 convict David Headley battling for life after attack in US prison


July 24 : David Coleman Headley, Pakistani-American convicted in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, is reportedly battling for his life in a hospital ICU after being attacked by two inmates at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago.

As per media reports, Headley was reportedly attacked on July 8 by two other inmates as he had been a “double agent” who had worked both for Pakistan and Islamist terror organisations.

The US authorities refused to comment on media reports that Pakistani-American convict in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack case David Coleman Headley was battling for his life after being attacked by inmates at a detention centre on Monday.

David Coleman Headley of Pakistani origin is serving 35 years in prison after sentenced by a US court for his role in the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai that killed more than 160 people.

“We have not received information on any such attack on Headley,said Ujjawal Nikam, special public prosecutor in the 26/11 trial.
