250 policemen ill due to fever, dengue, chikungunya


Kanpur, Sep, 16: Health problems are getting worse day by day, Viral fever, dengue, malaria, chikungunya has taken several lives into its grip.

Recently, 250 policemen have been affected by the viral fever which is due to dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. All the officials including sub- inspector are on the leave from their duty in the district. Not only the policemen but their families are also affected by the diseases.

The reason behind the leave of the policemen can be their own health or else they are busy in getting their diseased family members treated.

The official ranked deputy SP, an in-charge of the police station and five sub- inspectors have been diagnosed with either dengue or chikungunya.

Several policemen are affected with chikungunya which causes pain in their joints. And therefore, they have taken medical leave.

SSP Shalabh Mathur said “Due to health issues, policemen have gone on leave. To avoid policemen contracting diseases caused due to the mosquito bite, fogging is being done at police lines and police quarters.”
