Bhopal, Oct 5 : The Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party received a major setback in poll bound Madhya Pradesh on Friday as 24 party leaders have resigned en-masse a day ahead of President Amit Shah’s trip in Jhabua district.
The development occurred when reports emerged that Manohar Sethia, BJP’s district President has been asked to leave the party and instead appointed Om Prakash Sharma as its district BJP president. Sethia was appointed as the district BJP president six months ago.
Furious over the party’s decision, two dozens office-bearers tendered their resignation last night in support of Sethia.
But reports are also being circulated that ex-district BJP president Manohar Sethia reached Indore last night and tendered his resignation citing health reasons.
But as per sources, the resignation came after Sethia’s objectionable photographs went viral on social media and the party wanted to avoid any type of controversy as the crucial elections of the state are round the corner.

Amit Shah will be in Madhya Pradesh on October 6 and where he will meet party workers from Indore and Ujjain regions. He will visit Gwalior on October 9 to meet party workers.On October 14, he will interact with workers from Sagar, Bhopal and Hoshangabad regions and the next day he will meet BJP cadres of Rewa, Shahdol and Jabalpur, the BJP spokesperson said.
