A youth allegedly killed an 17-year-old girl after she rejected his marriage proposal in Bhainsa town of Adilabad district in Telangana, police said. The incident took place just days after Chennai’s Infosys employee, Swathi, was murdered.
The accused, 22-year-old boy was arrested and was a neighbour of the girl. He attacked girl on Saturday afternoon outside her home in Bhainsa town with a kitchen knife and repeatedly slit her throat and then ran away. the victim bled to death.
The girl had complained of being harassed by him and her family had lodged a complaint with the police last year. alleged did not want her to get married to anyone else and had even tried to disrupt her engagement in January this year, police said.
A resentful murderer developed a grouse against victim, who was out for grocery shopping when he allegedly attacked her and slit her throat in full public view.
Last month, Swathi S, a 24-year-old woman, was hacked to death by a man in a railway station in Chennai allegedly because she rejected his advances.
Police registered a murder case against murderer and are looking for him.
