Ludhiana, Oct 1 : Three people have been booked by the police on Sunday for allegedly performing circumcision on a 10- year old boy in Machhiwara, Punjab.
The police have registered a case under Section 295 and 326 of the IPC against Imran who belongs to Uttar Pradesh but was residing and working in Machhiwara, Punjab.
The boy, who hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, told the police that his father abandoned him in a train after his mother died around eight months back.
The boy said that last week Mobin hired him for Rs 1,000 a month in his roadside juice vending shop at Machhiwara.
The boy alleged the accused circumcised him on Friday in a bid to convert him to Islam forcefully. The boy was admitted to a hospital in serious condition. A case has been registered against one against Mohammad Mobin and two of his unidentified accomplices.
The profusely bleeding boy somehow managed to escape and reached a nearby market in Kohara. Members of a tempo union brought him to hospital. The condition of the 10-year-old is said to be stable now.
